What to do if you are suffering from asthma ? How to stop asthma?

 If you are suffering from asthma, you probably think that you cannot exercise properly or safely.  Contrary to what you think about this topic, there are ways you can exercise even if you suffer from asthma.

How to stop asthma?

      Asthma is a chronic lung disease with features such as cough, wheezing, shortness of breath and chest tightness.  Asthma occurs with people who are genetically or environmentally determined.

       Some triggers that can trigger or worsen an attack include allergies, viral respiratory infections, airway irritation, exercise and exposure to things like dust mites or cockroaches.


      You can prevent asthma by doing the following:


     1. Give your pets a weekly bath.


      2. Do not smoke or smoke in your home.


      3. When the mold or polluted count is high, you should stay inside with air conditioning.


      4. Wash your bed and any stuffed toys in warm water at least once a week.


      5. Washing hands on every occasion.


      6. Take a flu shot.


      7. Wear a scarf on your mouth and nose during the winter months.


      8. Be active and know your diseases and how you should avoid them.


      Now that you know what you know about asthma, you may be wondering where exercise happens.  As most doctors will tell you, you should not quit sports or exercise at all.  You just have to be smart how you play and take special precautions to avoid attacks.

How to stop asthma?


      Almost all doctors agree that the best way to prevent attacks during exercise is to keep your inhaler and medication off.  You should not use the inhaler more than 3 times during a sports or exercise session.  If you are coughing and wheezing the previous night, it is always best to go light with your exercise the next day.

              For something known as IEA (exercise-induced asthma), the symptoms are somewhat different, in the fact that they appear 6 - 10 minutes after exercise and will often worsen in cold or dry air.

      If you have IEA, there are many activities that you can enjoy such as swimming, walking, biking, downhill skiing and team based sports.  There are many activities for you to choose from, so that you can ensure that you need exercise.

      Keep in mind that the condition of asthma is not "in your head", it is a real physical therapy that will require treatment to prevent and cure.  Although your doctor will be your best friend in the treatment of asthma, you can prevent your symptoms.

                       Alway  be smart, take your medicine and be active.  Don't keep it in a miserable life - like you can enjoy exercise like everyone else.
